This fierce satire on British imperial rule in India was originally published in 1816, with many hand-coloured illustrations. It was set in the tenure of the Earl of Moira, Francis Edward Rawdon-Hastings, Ist Marquess of Hastings (1754-1826), and Governor-General of British India from 1813 to 1823.
