The first edition was published in 1936 and since then seventeen editions have been published to keep it updated with case laws, statutes and developments in the field of Law of Evidence. This latest edition has been revised thoroughly without affecting the originality of the author’s work. This edition has been exhaustively updated by incorporating all the important decisions of the Supreme Court of India, various High Courts and English Courts as well. As such this edition replaces the previous editions. Like its predecessors, it is hoped, that this edition will be useful for the Bench and the Bar and all those interested in this subject.
