The book is constructed in a scientific manner considering a fact that the previous years' questions are not repeated but the concepts are. We have taken a judicious approach to filter out previous years' questions. Then we have identified the areas from where previous years' questions are most often asked. Finally, we have considered each of these selected questions as a template and subsequently framed two replicate questions (Replicate 1 and Replicate 2) with similar concepts as done in DNA Replication! In this way, the entire previous years' questions of CSIR NET Life Sciences are now replicated. This approach is adopted for all the thirteen units of the CSIR NET Life Sciences. We have replicated both Part-B (CSIR 2 marks) and Part-C (CSIR 4 marks) category questions. This brand-new idea of the book will offer a cluster of questions on a prescribed syllabus. The most crucial part of the book is the complete explanation of all the replicated questions. It forms the true strength of the book. Debasish Kar graduated in Physiology (H) from Midnapore College, West Bengal. He studied M.Sc. in Biotechnology at Utkal University, Bhubaneswar followed by M.Tech. in Biotechnology at Maulana Abul Kalam Azad University of Technology, West Bengal (formerly known as West Bengal University of Technology, Kolkata). Later he was awarded a Ph.D. in Biotechnology from IIT Kharagpur. Dr Kar has presented his research findings in one of his talks at an International conference, FEMS in the Netherlands. Currently, he is working as Assistant Professor in the Department of Biotechnology at Ramaiah University of Applied Sciences, Bengaluru. His primary research area includes molecular characterization of betalactamases that cause bacterial resistance against a broad-spectrum antibiotic - a threat to the global medicine. He has published numerous papers in the peer-reviewed journals. A few of his book chapters are published in Springer Nature and Cambridge Scholar Publishing, UK.
