The book is different from usual descriptive accounts of the Islamic monuments in Bihar particularly in Sasaram and Rohtasgarh and their style. It tries to understand the regional styles in their proper perspective. In this volume, Dr. Abha Rani's focus has been more on individual monuments and the comprehensive view must be based on an analysis of the monuments. She has also described their decorative pattern and architectural excellence. A number of photographs, plans elevation of monuments and maps have been added to make the work as illustrative as possible.
