This book explores in a precise way different concepts about the importance of clean energy in sustainable development are explained seem very amazing. Taking the stock of the fossil fuels and assessing their availability in times to come, the importance of seeking alternatives has been brought out well. Various energy resources like solar, wind, biogas geothermal and ocean’s thermal, wave, and tidal sources of renewable energy can bebest alternative to fossil fuels that has been well explained in this book. The descriptions of various technological challenges involved in utilizing all these sources of energy are the key feature of this book. Utilization of the biogas can be made as a sustainable resource for power generation especially for rural sector which is also highlighted. In this regard, several national level mission mode projects based on biogas undertaken by Indian government are also explained to acquaint readers with success and risk factors of such projects. Pros and cons of all these energy resources are highlighted to indicate the viability of all options. From this, one can gauge the possibilities of seeing these sources turning into a reality, as far as the power generation from sources other than fossil fuels is concerned. Contents : 1.
